Mikey Ready For Level 6

I brought Mikey to Gymboree today and tried out Level 6 class which is for 28 to 36 month kids. Mikey is only 26 months and is currently at Level 5. He was the youngest in the group today but he participated well just the same. Oh well for the most part of it actually, if he knows what's going to happen next, he will just leave and explore other play area by himself. I just let him climb up and slide with minimal supervision. He likes to be independent and sometimes shoves off my hands when I try to hold him while traversing a bouncy bridge, he is so fearless that's for sure.

One thing I like about Level 6 is the story time where kids are brought into a room with their own snack and listen to the teacher read a story. Parents are left behind and can just look through a glass window. Anyway, Mikey was OK as he walked to the room, sat with other kids in circle while they ate their snacks together. Then when Ms. Melanie closed the door, he turned his head around to look for me and cried when he didn't see me. Ms. Melanie just sat him on her lap while she read the story and he calmed down and participated. After the story time, the teacher gave them each a colored chalk and they scribbled on the board. He enjoyed that session I know, and now I'm thinking of moving him up to Level 6, I think he's ready to be with older kids
