Art Class At Home
Since my son didn't have much fun attending art class in Gymboree, I decided to just do it at home. I got him an easel in Ikea a while back with white board and black board on each side and a roll of construction paper attached from bottom. I've got all the art supplies like markers, crayons, colored pencils, chalks, and play dough. My good friend Barb gave a 'hand-me-down' art desk complete with lamp and tracing board which makes the session very convenient. All these I put on the deck which is a very practical place to do the art sessions because it can get very messy. Plus we have the awning mounted now on the wall so it provides nice shades as well. Right now, Mikey enjoys scribbling chalks on the black board and markers on the construction paper. But with the colored pencils he would rather count them than write them. He transfers each pen one by one from the box to the slots on the table and back. And he really counts from 1 to 3 and when I volunteer the next number he will say the one that comes after that, how cute.

I love this - what an awesome idea - and he looks like he loves it, too!
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!
That's a perfect place to do messy art work. LOL I'm glad that he's enjoying the art desk, pretty neat huh!
