Scared of Thomas the Train

I talk to my son like a big kid and it makes me smile when he listens to me with a serious face like trying to digest every word I say. It's amazing how when I teach him a word today, he will still remember the following day. For instance, of all the kids so obsessed with Thomas the Train, my son is the only one who is scared of the show on TV. He likes them in books and toys only, but not the show on TV. He is so terrified as in he trembles whenever the show previews on TV while he's watching something else. Anyway, I told him to not be scared because it's only on TV and the train is not a real talking train. For some reason he's scared of the faces on the trains. I've said that to him only once and the following day when he saw the picture in his book, he tried to tell me in a baby talk "Scared Thomas Train", then with his index finger up in the air going left to right "On TV." At first I couldn't decipher what he was talking about, hb even asked what he was saying, it took me a while to realize that he was talking about what I told him the other day - don't be afraid of Thomas the Train, it's only on TV. I learned from the Parenting magazines I read, that you should go down to the level of your child when you talk to them so you can look at them eye to eye so they will understand better. That is how I talk to him when I want him to understand something.
