We Survived the Week Without Eating Out

Weekends are family days and we love going out to eat in restaurants. We love to try new cuisine or go back to our favorite restos to eat the same old food that we love. So now you know why I sometimes complain about gaining weight, lol. But last week was different, we didn't go out at all to eat. Well we kind of made a decision to not eat out anymore to save money. Imagine spending at least $50 when we eat lunch at Friday's or Bristish Beer Company and about $30 when we eat dimsum at China Pearl. And those are not the only restos we frequent and we eat out at least twice a week. I would say we saved around $100 last week for not eating out, big savings! Whatever your circumstances in life, splurging money at this time will become the last thing on your mind because we are in a very scary place right now.

  1. That's what we are doing too Mira even befere hb you know. We only go out to eat at least once or twice a month, but now we have to spend wisely because of our economy. We are also scared, but god will help us to go through this hard life. It's been a while we haven't go out dinner what I could remember is last month when we go out to watch movie that's all and we spend $36 including tip.

  2. I don't really understand when we say eating out. How about bibili lang ng cheese burger or vegetable salad from mc donald, is that consider eating out? At least 4 to 6 times in a week bumibili kami from mc donald eh. We don't spend much naman kase hanggang $12 lang ang mababayaran namin. But I promised myself na magluluto na sa bahay, nag rereklamo na si hubby. [wink]

But as what you have said up there, eating in a nice restaurant. Nakow, once in a bluemoon lang yan dahil super mahal.

  3. @Rose - thanks!

@Lanie - yup, we have to be wiser at this time.

@Racquel - to me eating out is either dining in a resto or buying take-outs. As long as you didn't prepare the food yourself and just bought cooked or prepared food somewhere else which are normally more expensive - it's eating out ;-)
