NO no no.
ReplyDeleteThe best thing a woman can do is to bank their baby's cord blood in a PUBLIC bank. NOT private. PUBLICly banked cord blood is available to everyone. Private cord blood banks pray on the fear of new mothers, but the truth is money is better spent on childproofing homes - the more likely cause of harm to your child.
My daughter was born with Leukemia and saved by a a publicly banked cord blood. Even if I had saved my daughter's cord it would have likely reintroduced the Leukemia, they would never have used it.
You cannot know what a useless waste of money private banking is UNLESS you have a child with a history of cancer or genetic disease, or a sibling in need it is a complte waste of money. To ensure that no child dies waiting for a match, a match that may be stored a way privately for a child that will never need it...donate cord to a PUBLIC bank.
Women need to ask their doctors the facts about banking cords.
