Cabin Cuddler, A Great Travel Companion

Cabin_cuddler

Traveling to the Philippines is not easy, imagine sitting on the plane for more than 18 hours not to mention the hours of layover in some airports depending on the route or carrier you take. So it is just wise to wear light and comfortable clothings in long trips like this, plus the fact that we are also flying into the warm Philippine weather. But on the other hand its always freezing cold on the plane, and light clothings make it even colder. In times like this I can always use a little comfort from a warm, clean and cuddly blanket.

I'm sure you must have heard how airlines are trying to cut down on expenses or passing some costs to the passengers to cover for the skyrocketing costs to fly an airplane. So who knows if they also cut cost on washing the blankets they provide on the plane. I would rather have my own Cabin Cuddler than use the blanket provided on the plane, if they even provide anymore for free. Cabin Cuddler is a 6 in 1 travel blanket and pillow, a practical choice to take to a long plane trips as it is very convenient to carry. It comes with an inflatable pillow and a tote bag that turns into a personal hygienic pillow case. The blanket has contour cut that never leaves any part of your body uncovered and a patented pocket to keep your feet warm. You will never freeze anymore in a long cold trip to the Philippines if you take the great travel companion, the Cabin Cuddler.

Thank God Its Friday

It's been a productive week for me so far, I accomplished a lot of things in terms of chores, errands, and the likes and had the luxury of watching the TV too. Usually, I can't watch my own shows anymore, the TV is always kept captured by the little guy in the family. I usually sit with Mikey when he watches his shows so I can explain to him what's going on. Anyway, hopefully today will be just the same. Hb is working from home so I can sneak away from the little guy once in a while.

A Quick Business Cash Advance

If you are a business owner, you should always be at par with everybody else to gain more customers and therefore increase your sale. One of the things that will draw more customers to your business is when you accept credit card payments for products and services purchased from you as everybody else is doing it. Of course when you accept credit card payments you will only get the actual cash after some time and your liquidity standing might deplete before getting paid. Upcoming bills can not wait till you get paid by the credit card company so you might face a situation of having to get a loan just to pay for all your office utilities and other overheads. Well you don't even need to get to that point. You can turn your future credit card sales into an immediate cash by taking merchant cash advance against it through OnlineCheck.com. OnlineCheck.com will purchase a portion of your future Visa and MasterCard receipts and you will be guaranteed to get more cash at the lowest cost of funds. So you don't need to worry about getting traditional bank loan from a bank that you're not sure you'll get approved of. Here's the easiest way to get the business cash advance in order not to disrupt your operation. Funds are available within 72 hours with no credit check required.

Getting Fed Up With Choo-Choo

Choo-choo is the first and last word that my son say every single day. He will talk in a very long sentence with clear words and babbles that will always end up with a 'choo-choo' word. I don't know how he always goes back to 'choo-choo' even if its not what we're talking about. Yesterday a mom from Gymboree was so sweet and gave him a surprise gift, and yes you guessed it right, a Thomas the Train toy and oh boy did he forget everything else. I let him play with it in the car on our way home but then by force of habit, I put it in my purse when we got home and never took it out.

Today at Gymboree, he was in a class enjoying himself and all of a sudden detoured to my purse that was sitting at the corner of the gym. And lo and behold, the good old "choo-choo" popped out before him. And then he didn't want to join the session anymore. He just played by himself driving the train around the play area with the other kids just looking at him with envy. So as not to disrupt the class, I tried to take it away from him and he threw a tantrum of course. I took him out of the gym and talked seriously about not taking a toy to Gymboree (as if he understood) but he just cried louder. Oh boy, I'm so fed up with this Thomas the Train toy, I will already freak out if I hear another word of choo-choo ;-) nah!

Mikey With Giant Zucchinis

Our neighbor is a busy bee in his vegetable garden and every time he harvests any vegetables he'll surely give us something. One time he gave us some kind of a bouquet lettuce, its the first time I've seen such and it tasted really good and crunchy in salad. And then last week, he gave us these two 'gigantic' zucchinis, one is 19 1/2" long and the other one is 18" long. The first dish that came to mind was Zucchini Bread, which I did and posted in My Kitchen Table, click here to see the recipe. And the other one that I planned in making (suggested by my neighbor) which I haven't tried looking for recipe yet is Zucchini Casserole. If you have any recipe that you can share using zucchini please leave me a message here before they get rotten ;-)

Mikey was saying "e-vee" means heavy

A Preview of Black Friday

I can not believe that summer is almost gone. It won't take too long and I will be planning the menu for Thanksgiving Dinner again. I always wish I could go out to shop and take advantage of the huge savings on Black Friday, but I am always too exhausted to get up early after hosting a thanksgiving dinner the day before. I will just settle for online shopping, the most convenient way of doing it really. And what is more exciting about getting a sneak peak of what will be in the store on Black Friday itself? Yes that's right, even before getting the flyers from your local newspaper.

I love to shop for Christmas gifts as early as after Thanksgiving to save myself of the stress of going to a crowded mall during the holidays. With a long list of people I need to give gifts too, time is of the essence when it comes to planning for holiday shopping. My favorite places to shop for children's toys are Toys R' Us and KB Toys and for gifts to adults I would go to Kohl's or Macy's. I was so thrilled to see that these stores are in the list of BlackFridayScan.com. So now I will have a preview of what will be on sale on Black Friday even before the newspaper
ads for thanksgiving arrive.

Black Friday Scan also offers email alerts to let us know when new Black Friday ads have been posted. Plan your holiday shopping too by visiting http://www.blackfridayscans.com, get ahead of everybody else and take advantage of the huge savings you will get if you consult their list before going to your favorite stores. The list is long so that means you will have a lot of savings to enjoy for the coming holiday season.

Wish He'll Stay A Baby Forever

I am amazed at how Mikey is picking up easily the words I'm trying to teach him. You should see the eagerness in his eyes to absorb all the words coming out of my mouth. So hb and I are very careful at the choices of words we use. We always spell the words that we don't want Mikey to pick up and mimic. His hearing is very sharp, that even when he's watching TV he still reacts to what I say while on the phone talking to some friend. Yesterday on our way home from church, hb and I were talking about when Mikey will be in school already which is only a year from now. I started with the thought of " I wonder who will become his best friend?". And then hb said that he might be picked on in school because he's short. I said "I don't think so, because he will be the smartest kid in his class" ;-). Ahh, I dread the thought of MIkey going to school already, I wish he will stay a baby forever!

Car Experts You Can Trust

I know there are a lot of auto body repair shops out there but I wouldn't trust my 'baby' to just anybody. I want a shop that can be relied upon and I want to hear or see what the customers are saying after they had a service done in a particular shop. Collision Repair Experts is the place to go when I will have problem with my car and I will feel confident to trust my car to them based on the testimonials of a lot of satisfied customers. They are the experts in collision repair that will return your vehicle to its pre-accident condition, so why trust anybody else.

Monday Madness

It takes a while to clean up and de-clutter my kitchen and family room but it only takes a second for my toddler and hb to do the opposite. Every Monday our house is in disarray like a tornado just went by. Today I had to get up earlier than usual to clean up because we were expecting somebody at 8am. Monday is always a busy day because it is when I do most of my chores. Chores are a never ending task and as early as now, I'm already planting the seed of organization and cleaning up to my two year old son. It's never too early to teach our kids how to clean up and organize, it should start with their toys and books. My son is pretty much taking a lot after me when it comes to cleaning up, thank God ;-).

I Need New Window Treatment

We've had our blinds in the kitchen and bathroom windows including the vertical blinds for the sliding glass door for more than 14 years now. They look so old and dated not to mention dirty. And most of the tussles or ropes are broken too because they are the favorite things to play with by my toddler every time he comes near the door or windows. I need new window treatments in the kitchen and bathrooms badly and I want something stylish, sturdy, and affordable . I've been thinking of replacing them with customized Window Vertical Blinds and I've been dilly-dallying on it till a friend of mine recommended PaylessDecor.com site. My friend had purchased her window treatments there before and was satisfied about their products. At PaylessDecor.com, I found exactly what I was looking for. They have got a lot of selection of the highest quality vertical window treatment to choose from and even have a Quick Estimator feature where you can just type your window measurements and get an indication of how much a product will cost, how cool. The vertical window blinds is really perfect for our kitchen windows because we get a lot of sunlight there and I can also add a valance to complete their looks. Well, sometimes dilly-dallying is good, otherwise I wouldn't have found out the site of PaylessDecor.com.

My Summer Flowers

After our regular afternoon walk, Mikey and I went to my garden to cut some of my summer flowers. Cut flowers arranged in vases gave some colors and a little fragrance (except for the Marigolds) inside the house. I mix herbs with other plants in the garden but I don't usually use them for cooking. I just love the clean fragrance that the herbs release and they surely compliment other plants as well. The ones I use for cooking I just keep inside the house in pots. Here are some of the photos I took of my flowers.

From top to bottom - Lavender, Hydrangea, Marigold and Black Eyed Susan. Mikey couldn't resist the sweet smell of Lavender, I just told him to smell the flowers and he tried to eat them ;-).

My Sweet Mikey

Three days in a row, I was on the phone with my mom, my father in law, my aunt and my uncle. And before I hang up the phone, I would ask Mikey to say 'bye-bye I love you' to whomever I was on the phone with. To my mom he said "ba-bay nanay a-wab-yu" and my mom's heart melted. To my FIL he said "ba-bay ampa a-wab-yu", and the old guy was so delighted. To my aunt and uncle he said "ba-bay wowo, ba-bay wowa, a-wab-yu", and they were just thrilled to death. Mikey is such a sweet and affectionate boy.

Well, I've been working so hard to get to the statistics I have right now, and getting a domain means starting from square one again. But in the long run, my purpose will be hopefully served - to get more paid post opportunities for this blog. So let me just take a look for the last time the stats I enjoyed for the past week.

A Curious George

Last week I went to visit my girlfriend in RI for a playdate for our kids and scrapbooking session for us. We went there directly from Mikey's Gymboree class. It's been a while since I last saw them together, and it's good to see little McKale again. This was some kind of a relief for me seeing my son play while I accomplish some scrap project on the side. When we're at home he likes to be around me all the time, he wants to be part of whatever I do, he's a Curious George ;-). He would always say " I do it, I do it" or "me see, me see" if he wants to try or take a look at what I'm doing. So half of the time, I end up not finishing anything or prolonging the work. But on the upside of it, since I explain to him while he tries or looks on, he's learning fast and his vocabulary grows everyday.

Orlando Gutter Service Provider

I know a lot of senior people who live in the East Coast but still maintain a house in Florida where they stay during the winter. I don't blame them, New England weather especially in winter can be very nasty cold with so much snow. However, my friend's house in Florida needs a lot of work now. It has weathered many storms, some repair jobs are badly needed. I suggested for her to try clicksmart.com to find local certified experts who can help her with her gutter problems. She tried it and found Orlando gutter service provider in a flash. She was very satisfied at how fast and reliable the services to repair gutter in Orlando, she couldn't thank me enough.

A Blogger Buddy Made My Day

I'm feeling a little bit under the weather today, I woke up with a terrible headache and strained back muscles. Despite not feeling well, I still have to attend to tons of chores waiting to get done. There is no day off for moms when it comes to chores, if I don't do some of them, they will just keep on piling up. Anyway, I also managed to reply to some e-mails and dropped a few EC's at the same time. And then I stumbled upon a message from RL Flamingo, one of my blogger buddies, in my Social Spark message inbox where she mentioned that a post about me was up on her site. I got excited to see what she was up to. And how sweet of her to even mention about it, it sort of give me a little lift today, thanks RL! You can visit Flamingo Musings and check it out here ;-).

Art Class At Home

Since my son didn't have much fun attending art class in Gymboree, I decided to just do it at home. I got him an easel in Ikea a while back with white board and black board on each side and a roll of construction paper attached from bottom. I've got all the art supplies like markers, crayons, colored pencils, chalks, and play dough. My good friend Barb gave a 'hand-me-down' art desk complete with lamp and tracing board which makes the session very convenient. All these I put on the deck which is a very practical place to do the art sessions because it can get very messy. Plus we have the awning mounted now on the wall so it provides nice shades as well. Right now, Mikey enjoys scribbling chalks on the black board and markers on the construction paper. But with the colored pencils he would rather count them than write them. He transfers each pen one by one from the box to the slots on the table and back. And he really counts from 1 to 3 and when I volunteer the next number he will say the one that comes after that, how cute.

Treating Summer Stings and Rashes

I'm sure most kids are in camps or other outdoor activities savoring the warm summer weather. If in case they come home with skin irritations, here's a couple of tips from Bernard Cohen, M.D., director of pediatric dermatology at the Johns Hopkins Children's Center in Baltimore.

Bug bites and stings - Ice or cold compresses can help relieve the itching from a mosquito bite or bee sting -as can a dab of baking soda toothpaste, which has a cooling effect. You can apply a mild hydrocortisone cream to a bite that's persistently itchy or puffy , as long as it's not on the face, neck or groin area. If you see severe swelling, however, call the doctor.

Rashes from poisonous plants - To soothe the streaky, itchy red rash from poison ivy, oak, or sumac, apply cold compresses or ice packs, or an aluminum acetate solution (such as Burow's solution) or mild hydrocortisone cream. If the rash is severe and unbearable, see your doctor; in some cases, a two-week course of oral steroids may be needed.
