Great Finds

A year ago, I discovered a consignment store that sells used children's stuff at very affordable prices, and I became a regular client ever since. Children grow like weeds and it gets too expensive to buy them new toys and clothes all the time. Plus the fact that we have four seasons here in US justifies the reason to not buy too many at a time. The clothes that might be too big last winter may not fit anymore this year's winter. I usually go to the consigment store once a month and all the time I will get something that my son will need for the season. And my latest finds were these snow boots and chunky lighted shoes for everyday-cold-weather wear. I only spent $14.99 for both, and they're almost brand new. I wouldn't mind getting stuffs like these as he may just use them for the rest of the fall and whole winter, and by next year we will buy new pairs again.

Espresso Machine For My Hubby

My husband loves to drink coffee and espresso is one of the kinds he craves for. He had one of those espresso makers but it broke a few years back so he's been wanting to have another one. I would probably give him an espresso machine this Christmas to surprise him. I'm looking into buying a nespresso espresso machine to keep it simple as it only uses capsules and they've got different variety of flavors to choose from as well. I'm sure my husband will get a kick out of this new espresso machine.

Of Wind and Dried Leaves

I was busy downloading digiscrap freebies last night while doing my regular EC drops but I was always distracted by the strong and whizzing sound of the wind outside. Oh geez I was worried I would wake up with lots of dried leaves in my yard again. I hurt my wrists and my arms from raking most of the leaves in the front lawn the other day. Good thing its not too bad as the Halloween is only two days away, I'm sure the kids won't mind walking through piles of dried leaves, they add up to the excitement of Trick or Treat experience anyway.

Some Mini Housework

When we had a mini kitchen makeover, we had to replace also all the cabinet hinges and hardware to fit in the stainless steel look and style I was going for. Now we might need to replace the knobs of the doors as well including the door knob of the main door entrance with industrial knobs. Our house is fourteen years old already but we don't really need major makeover. We just need to retouch some and replace some to upgrade and get a refreshing look. Like three years ago we painted the interior walls and trims in all the rooms upstairs and downstairs. It took us a good two weeks to finish everything and the result was really great. Hopefully in the summer next year, we can start repainting the exterior walls as they need to be redone every four or five years. But that job I don't think we can do ourselves anymore;-), we need to hire people to do it for us.

Of Pumpkin Carving Tool Kit and More

Happy Monday everyone. Wow the weather is great today, it is like a late-summer-early-fall kind of temperature. My son and I went out to shop for a pumpkin carving tool kit and we didn't even have to wear our sweaters, yipee! Anyway, I decided to check out Ocean Job Lot for the kit since I was also planning to buy solar powered pathway lights. I got the lights and more as usual, but not the kit. So I drove to Michael's craft store, and I was sure they have the kit. But on my way there, there was a big sign of 'Going out of business SALE' at Linens N Things store glaring at my face, so I detoured ;-). Wow, they've got so much stuff that I wanted to get but my little one was not in the mood to stay behaved in the cart. So I just decided to leave but I still want to go back there without my son ( I wish!), LOL. Finally, I was lucky to get my pumpkin carving tool kit at Michael's, they were almost gone. Well, its only 4 days before Halloween and there I was the last person in line for the kit ;-). On our way home, I just picked up some pizza to go and my son and I feasted on the yummy triple cheese topping pizza. I gave my son a quick hot bath and he's now in bed for a nap. Hopefully I can start carving the pumpkin and do other chores before he wakes up.

Wine of the Month Club

My husband is a wine enthusiast and he always goes for the great and superb-tasting wines. He recently learned about the wine of the month club online where members get access to a wide variety of outstanding wines that are not typically found in the winery store, unless of course you live close to a winery. I guess the luxury of having to taste two outstanding wines that will be conveniently delivered to our house every month is what draws my husband towards becoming a member.

A Gym With Daycare

I feel bloated and heavy, I really need to exercise to lose excess weight. I was enrolled in a gym once before but was not very religious about attending. I guess it would be nice to go with a buddy to be more committed. I was talking to my girlfriend the other day and she told me she's planning to enroll in a gym once they're settled in their new house. This is a great news, I've been planning to go back to the gym myself and having a companion now will make it more exciting. What's good about the gym we're planning to enroll at is the place is mommy-with-kids friendly. They have a daycare where we can leave our kids and only pay $2 an hour, what a great deal. Hopefully we can start soon, I really need exercise badly ;-).

Can Not Do Without A Cellphone

I'm looking into buying unlocked cell phones that I can use when I go to the Philippines early next year. I want to be able to use a SIM card from any carrier instead of taking my current cellphone that only recognizes one carrier. Aside from the digital camera that I keep in my purse all the time, cell phone is one thing I can not go out of the house without. I need it for emergency calls most of all and it is also my lifeline to family and friends while on the go.

Weekend Plans

It's weekend once again and what do we have planned for today? Well it's food shopping day, so we're going to Costco for some items. And for lunch, my husband is dragging me again to this Indian buffet in Norwood called Minerva. We were only there the other week and he wants to eat Indian food again! He really likes spicy dishes so all the food they serve there click his palate. While I suffer from heartburn from time to time, I'm not a big fan of spicy food. I can tolerate mild spice, but I go to this buffet resto for that orange sweet swirl dessert made from flour and syrup, not really sure what it's called. Anyway, today is apparently a great day so its good to be out of the house.

For Sunday, I would prefer to hear mass in the morning so I can work in the yard for a little bit. Sunday is really a great day in the forecast, so hopefully I can clear the front lawn with dried leaves before Halloween on Friday. But there will be rain and wind at night so I'm not sure how much leaves I have to clear tomorrow, I hope not much. Hopefully too I can put my Halloween decors tomorrow and start carving the pumpkin. This will be my first time to carve a pumpkin so I don't know if it's gonna be hard or easy. I'm already considering two designs, only easy ones to start with. Ok folks that's what in store for the weekends, and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend yourself.

Something To Fall Back On

I've been thinking of more ways to earn money while just staying at home taking care of my son. With our own stocks portfolio badly hurt and there's no tiny glimpse of hope for the economy to shape up anytime soon, a fall-back source of income is really welcome. I saw various small business opportunities online that are worth considering. Since I have a background in income tax preparation, I am looking at the possibility of doing tax services again. But I will need comprehensive training again to refresh myself and keep up with the latest updates in taxation.

Acne Treatment Works

After trying a long list of acne treatments, finally I got the one that suits me. I noticed that my acne is now under control, not as prominent as before. Probably, it's also because I'm not as stressed out as I used to. My stress is always manifested on my face with rashes and acne, so its not really good. Anyway, I will just continue to use this product and hopefully get a clearer and smoother skin before the holidays.

Baby Sitting 101

Yesterday I baby sat my goddaughter Kristen because my gf had some important errands to do. My son was excited to have his favorite playmate around and they had such a good time together. It was a little bit stressful in the beginning because I was a bit overprotective of Kristen since she just started walking and she's so delicate, while my son was super active and very rough. Anyway, that was just for few minutes but afterwards when I saw how my son was playing like a big brother to her, I sort of move away a little bit. I gave them crackers for snack. In few seconds, my son came back for more. He asked one for himself and another one for Kristen, even if Kristen was still working on her piece, how cute. These are the photos I took of these two little ones.

I bring my digital camera everywhere I go. It is in my purse all the time, always ready to capture the different moods of my son. So you wouldn't believe how a 1 GB SD card gets full right away and also at the time when I had to take an important shot, what a bummer! I'm also not always quick to download the pictures in my computer so I end up running out of memory. So to be safe and always ready, I bought a spare SD card with higher capacity so the memory card won't give up on me anymore.

Toy Hunt - Toy With Music

This is a cd player toy which plays different nursery rhymes. You can actually switch the tempo from piano, to trumpet or guitar. This was a gift from our Greek friends and one of the toys that Michael loves to play with. Aside from any toys with wheels, musical toys seem to fascinate my son. I could see him humming a tune, moving his body side to side, jumping or wiggling when he hears the music.

Toy Hunt runs every Tuesday and if you want to join the fun please visit JoyD of When Mom Talks for more details.

I should increase my computer memory to help me get my online job done more easily and quickly.

My son woke up from his nap very quickly. He slept for only 30 minutes, when normally he sleeps for at least two hours. He was crying and coughing like he was choking. So I immediately went to his room to see what's going on. I picked him up and then he threw up on me, he was choking from his own phlegm. He's got cold since Saturday and he's not a big fan of the nasal aspirator, so he is very congested. He doesn't want me to touch his nose at all, so he's suffering. Anyway, after he threw up he felt really better. I'm teaching him how to blow his nose but I guess it will take a while.

My Son The Immitator

Today was supposed to be my son's last session with his EI teacher before his assessment on October 21. With my son's tremendous improvement, we are all positive that he won't need anymore EI sessions. But for some reasons today, my son went backward partly because he was not feeling well. He was quiet at times, he was babbling words we couldn't undertand. He was rolling his tongue playfully and moaning. Yay, what happened to my son? Last Monday, when we went to visit a gf and joined them to watch a parade, our kids had the chance to play together. My gf's son doesn't talk yet but he babbles a lot and makes some funny noises of a bird or a tractor. And while they were pointing pictures of Thomas The Train in a book, my gf's son was making all these sounds and my son esily picked them up. And for a while he was like talking that way. I thought he could just sleep and forget about it. But from time to time he will remember about it and do it again. Anyway, he chose the worse time to express himself that way. The teacher even pointed that out to me. Hopefully in his assessment next week he will be well and be his old self again ;-).

Head Hunters

Gosh, I don't even remember the time I submitted my resume with them. Actually they just left a message but I haven't returned their calls yet. With the present economic situation I feel like going out there and work to help my hb, but at the same time feeling unsure about whether I can still do it. I've been out of corporate circulation since 2006. And also, I'm worried about leaving my son to a daycare especially now that he's in a stage where he imitates everything. He is like a sponge, what if he picks up bad behavior too which is not very unlikely. Anyway, I guess I will just tell them that I am ready to work when my son is already old enough to be in pre-school.

What's For Wednesday?

Yesterday, I got the chance to shop at Ikea again after a long time. It was a spur of the moment thing, I didn't have any plans at all. But since I want to get away from my toy-cluttered family room just for awhile, I felt the need to shop for toy bins. I wanted to buy transparent plastic boxes with wheels where I can house sorted toys of my son. I hate seeing him digging through his big bins of unsorted toys. He will literally scatter them on the floor to find what he is looking for. Anyway, my gf also asked me to buy some plastic containers for her, so I immediately went there to get them. I also got one for me and then some. I didn't see the boxes I wanted, but I didn't feel like going up again to get them either. So I just decided to leave and went to Costco.

At Costco, my son had a great time sampling the food in the aisle which were almost kid friendly food. I bought a box of dried apple and pear for him that he liked when he tasted them, but didn't like anymore when we got home. Now I have to snack on them myself. Anyway, after our shopping spree we went to my other gf's house to join them for a walk. But as usual my gf who is a very good cook prepared a wonderful early dinner - Pakbet and fried Mackerel, wow I pigged out again. And she was so gracious to even packed some more for me to take home. She's really very nice! Then our kids had a great time walking, running and riding their bike and car.

He Associates Friends With Toys or Events

It's funny how my son remembers his friends by associating them with things or events. Everytime we go out to attend playdates or Gymboree sessions, I always prepare him by telling him what's going to happen. I usually talk to him in the car, like I ask him 'Where are we going Michael? We're going to see Jake." Then he will reply, "See Jake, choo-choo Thomas Twain." Even if we've been to Jake's house only once before, he remembered that Jake has got lots of train toys. And he remembers Baba and says "Baba, waters", because they played in the beach. Then he knows Sidney and Daniel from Gymboree and he'd say "Si-nee, Danewl Gymbo." And he likes to say Kristen's name all the time, since we visit her in her house often. So whenever we get out he always thinks we're going to Kristen's and he'd say "Kis-ten, Kis-ten haws."

The Kind Of Credit Card I Will Go For

I always get tons of pre-approved credit card applications in the mail but I haven't really gotten the chance to take a look at them and compare. I'm the kind of person who doesn't just jump on the first offer that comes my way. I want to compare the pros and cons of any product I get, including credit cards. I don't want to own too many credit cards so I won't get encouraged to spend too much. I only have Visa Debit Card and American Express. With the debit card, I don't need to worry about setting aside money to pay for my bill later as my purchases get deducted from my bank account right away; but it can be dangerous to use it for online purchases. While with my Amex card, I can get attractive rates, great rewards and also great customer service; but some merchants don't accept American Express because according to them it charges high interest rates.

So despite my personal rule on not getting anymore credit card, I guess one more card like one of those cash back credit cards wouldn't hurt. Since I use my credit cards in just about anything I purchase, it would be great to get back a certain percentage of every dollar I spend. I always make timely payment in full on my credit card so I should have no problem getting low interest rate credit cards as well. iApplyCrediCards.com offers great tips and advices on how to choose the right credit cards that fit anyone's needs, so the process of choosing is not too overwhelming anymore. With iApplyForCreditCards.com credit card online applications is a breeze. You can search for the kind of credit card you want and presto, their search tool will give you the exact result you want. iApplyForCrediCard.com also provides great tips on how people with huge balance on several credit cards should apply for new credit cards for balance transfer with companies that offer zero or low balance tranfer rate to save huge money on interest payments. If you are nursing a bad or poor credit history, you can still apply for bad credit credit cards but you might just have to pay a higher interest rates than the regular credit cards. But at least this is your first step to reestablish your credit back to good standing. So whatever your circumstances right now, if you want to find out the right credit card to go for, visit iApplyForCreditCards.com for great tips and advices.

My Son Needs A Nap

My son is 28 months old now and he takes a nap once a day for at least two hours. He naps around 1pm to 3pm. Sometimes he'll miss a nap or two during the week especially when we're out for an appointment that will last beyond his nap time or at the same time as his nap time. But I make it a point that he won't miss it for two consecutive days, otherwise he'll be miserable and so am I. Nap time to my son is really important, otherwise he gets increasingly tired, whiny, and miserable. I read that if a child is overtired, his body no longer responds as well to his brain signals, so he becomes less and less physically coordinated and more and more frustrated. I always say that my son is 'out of tune' if he doesn't get a nap, exactly what happened yesterday. We had dinner party at my girlfriend's house at 2pm and my son didn't take a nap. He was overly active playing with his playmates at the party too. So at around 6:30pm he became whiny and uncoordinated. Then at bedtime he was restless and cried at least three times. I had to go in his room to calm him down once. No more missing naptime for my son.

My Husband the Good Samaritan

When we went to Boston yesterday we took the commuter rail from our town and left our car in the parking area. Hb parked it way too far from the tracks so he just let me wait while he got the car. And also because I was carrying my son who fell asleep on our way back. All the people who got off the train were gone except me and one guy who seemed very restless. He was looking at me and asked if there were taxis coming in the parking lot. So I asked him back if he called a taxi company to pick him up. Then without replying he just turned his back and walked to the public phone, so I thought that maybe he was following up on his taxi. And then hb arrived, I put my son in his car seat, I got in and then hb started to back up. Then I told him about the guy and hb decided to stop and park to help the guy.

The guy was Irish and its very difficult to understand him talk. So hb helped him by calling the taxi company to get a taxi for him, but unfortunately there was no available taxi to pick up the guy. Apparently he didn't call any taxi company at all, so he was just trying his luck that a taxi will come by. So hb volunteered to give him a ride without even asking where he lived. The guy was homeless and was carrying a black garbage bag of maybe all his belongings. He had a very sad story. He used to own condo units around town and twice he had foreclosure and was evicted. And to make matters worse he was also suffering from epilepsy. Poor guy! To think that this guy used to own condo units and now he is homeless made us realize how lucky we still are. We can only hope that this crisis will end already. I'm proud of my hb, he's really a good Samaritan.

Great Savings on Discounted Disney World Tickets

I fell in love with Walt Disney World the very first time I visited the place in year 2000. The inner child in me resurfaced as I saw the exciting rides; the interesting Disney World attractions, my favorite Disney characters and of course the World Disney Theme Parks. My husband, who was still my boyfriend then, and I flew to Florida right after Thanksgiving Dinner at my aunt's. Although I was excited to see the snow in New England states for the first time, I felt a huge relief to feel the tropical weather again in Florida. I took the plunge in the Tower of Horror; felt like a princess in the castle of Cinderella; swam like Ariel in Little Mermaid show; acted like a little child in the Disney characters parade; marched like Ants soldider down the Tree of Life and so much more.

After the great Walt Disney World experience I promised myself that I will definitely come back again and hopefully with my own kid in tow. The plan is in the works now for our next holiday trip to Disney with our toddler. I won't feel guilty splurging on a Disney Vacation because I will get huge saving anyway when I get the tickets at OrlandoFunTickets.com. OrlandoFunTickets.com is one of the largest ticket providers in Orlando, and It has the most affordable discounted
Disney world tickets like Disney Theme Park tickets, Universal Studios tickets, Island of Adventure tickets, and Sea World tickets among others. You can also get dinner shows discount tickets like Arabian Nights, Pirates Dinner Theater, Medieval Times and Makahiki Luau at Sea World.

We are getting the ultimate Premium ticket that never expires. It will not only give us huge savings but will also allow park hopping and unlimited admission between Theme Parks as well as additional PLUS options for other Disney attractions. This will definitely give us the best value for our dollar. I can't wait to see the excitement on my son's face when he sees all the exciting attractions at Walt Disney World.

I was worried we might not make it, we literally just changed clothes, brushed our teeth and left. O geez, I had a bad hair day ;-). I don't usually leave the house without taking a shower, but time was of the essence so we had to leave in a breeze. Anyway, taking trains is more convenient than driving to the busy Boston city, but we had to hang out the station for quite a long time waiting for our train. Mikey missed his regular nap hours so he was dead tired and fall asleep as soon as we boarded the train back home. It was a tiresome day but I'm glad that we accomplished a lot and it is looking good as far as our plan to take a trip to the Philippines in February.

It's good that there is a website where I can post my comments regarding these annoying numbers and warn other people about them. CallerIdentifier.com has a database where you can find out who's calling you and why. This Caller Identification feature is so great, now I can stay away from phone calls that are not worth my while.

Tomorrow's Appointment

This has been a long day, I need to go to bed soon. Tomorrow we're all going to Boston for an important appointment. We should also swing by the Ward Berry Farm or Flint Farm to pick up some pumpkins for Halloween. Every year I always get pumpkins on first week of October. But second week is almost over and I don't have any pumpkin yet. I'm excited for this Halloween because I've got friends and their families coming over for trick-or-treat and dinner.

Dinner Club Meet

I belong to a Dinner Club formed by a group of women of different cultures who love to get-together and eat. Every dinner meet we get to choose a theme for the kind of food we will bring. Like this time our theme is Orange to represent the Fall color. So everybody should bring a dish that may or may not be from their own countries with an orange colored ingredient in it. It is really fun and we get to exchange recipes too. We of course meet together with our husbands and kids so its doubly fun.

Locate Sexual Predators Anywhere in the US

Do you know that there are 644,865 sexual predators living in the United States? When I watch the news and see small and innocent children have fallen victims to sexual criminals, it made me worry and wonder how safe our neighborhood is from these kind of predators. I take my son out every afternoon for a walk around the neighborhood or in the playground and public places, and the thought that there may be a sexual predator lurking around can be very scary. It's good to know that there is a website that offers Sexual Predator Search so I can check if there are sex offenders living in my immediate vicinity and my neighboring states. At RegisteredSexualPredators.org you can subscribe and obtain detailed reports of the identity and location of sexual predators in your state, county, or city. You also have access to all relevant information you need to protect yourself and your family, thanks to Megan's Law that triggered this requirement for information of sexual predators to be kept public for public awareness and protection. Registered Sexual Offenders is your great source for information you need to protect yourself from sexual offenders.

Playdate and Hand-Me-Downs

I had a pretty busy day today. Right after my son's EI session today, I picked my girlfriend and her daughter to drive to our other girlfriend's house for a playdate. It was a pretty good drive and we arrived at almost lunch time. We had fried fish, eggplant omelette and rice for lunch and fruit salad for dessert. Oh I ate too much. Our kids also had a grand time playing with the tons of toys. After lunch, we hung out in the backyard. It was a bright and sunny day with cool breeze. The children ran around the yard, played in the sand and slide. My girlfriend packed a bag full of snow outfit hand-me-downs for my son too. I'm so grateful that I have really good friends who shower my son with hand-me-downs ;-). I don't need to buy my son new snow jackets for winter anymore.

My Son's EI Session

I woke up at 15 minutes before my son's EI session today. I set the alarm at 6am and out of habit just turned it off and went back to sleep. If not for hb reminding me that the EI teacher was coming I would have not remembered about it. Anyway, my son was already awake but just playing in his crib. I hurriedly changed him and just gave him Pediasure for breakfast. Then few minutes later the teacher arrived. Two weeks from today my son's skills will be assessed again to find out if he still needs EI. I'm positive that he won't anymore because of the tremendous improvement he had. My only reason for enrolling him to EI is because of his delayed communication skills. But my son is like a parrot now, he talks too much and can very well express himself. He demonstrated this skills on the fourth month of EI but I just continued the program for him anyway. An hour a week with his teacher is a good alternative from his regular routine and a great learning process.

Trace Any Phone Number

I'm a stay-at-home mom and my daily routine is really busy. I'm always in between chores and attending to my two-year old toddler. Despite being listed in the no-call-list, I still get a lot of calls during the day and most of them are just from telemarketers hiding behind the guise of taking surveys. It gets annoying sometimes especially when I'm waiting for an important call and I have to drop whatever I'm doing just to run and pick up the phone only to find out it was an unwanted call. The PhoneInfoTracer.com is a great reverse lookup tool that allows me to trace any phone number and find out the caller's identity. I just type the unknown phone number, regardless of whether it is listed or not, and it automatically gives me the information about the state, county, city, line type and phone carrier of the caller. And at a very minimal fee I can even obtain the owner's name and address, phone location, household members, line type - landline or mobile, and so much more. This is really a great service because now I can lookup missed calls in my cellphone too. This service is available in US and Canada, and all lookups are 100% confidential, meaning nobody will be notified that you are searching for their phone numbers.

I'm going to have a busy day tomorrow, after Mikey's session, we will visit a gf with another gf, and our kids will have a playdate.

Movie Extras Needed

Have you ever dreamed of being on TV or perhaps a movie? Well this is your chance to realize that dream. Talent6 is looking for extras for a film and tv shows. Extras are an integral part of a film or TV scene as they help make any scene look natural and more realistic. They usually don't have speaking lines and can be seen in the background or side by side of the main character of a film but they are a needed prop to complete a scene. And the pay for appearing as an extra in a film or tv scene is not bad at all. Movie extras get paid between $100 and $300 per day depending on the project.

If I were to work as an extra in a film I would love to be in a movie with my all time favorite actress Julia Roberts. That would be a great experience, not only do I get paid for appearing in her film, I get to see her in person too. Well that would be the day, I would be star struck for sure.
So if you are or someone you know is interested to work as an extra then Talent6 wants you. You can be 18 to 85 years old and live anywhere across the country, Talent6 can still find work for you. All you need to do is give them a call at (800-493-9047) and start living your dream.

Only Few Minutes to Myself

Every time the phone rings my son will always race ahead of me to pick it up. He won't try to answer it though or push any buttons, but hand the phone to me instead. In the middle of my phone conversation though, he will repeatedly say "bye-bye' complete with waving of his hand, as if giving me a cue to hang up already and attend to him again. He used to say anything I tell him to say on the phone, like to say hello to my friend on the other end. But now if I ask him to say hello, he will say bye-bye instead, how funny. My son doesn't like me to be on the phone, he wants me all to himself. He wants interaction all the time. Today, we went out for a walk just before noon time, and I let him run around, blow bubbles and ride his bike. Few minutes of being alone to myself felt really good.

On Fire

Wow, this blog is on fire. This is my 32nd entry for this month which was also the total entries I had for the whole month of September. Admittedly, it is hard to maintain six blogs in all, when you focus on one, you tend to neglect the others. But in my commitment to only write quality posts in my blogs and not sloppy ones just to keep them updated, I also ask your patience to bear with me. Writing in my blogs is one way of keeping me sane in dealing with the stress of motherhood. Being a SAHM and earning few buck on the side is very thrilling but of course my priority, like I always say is my family. On a side note, I just want to thank all my blogger buddies who always take the time to visit me here.

The Perfect Gift For Your Loved Ones

I always hear that it is a morbid subject to talk about death. As morbid as it sounds, planning ahead is still the most responsible thing to do when you care about the loved ones you will leave behind. Do you dread to even think about leaving this earth and also leaving your existing debts to your loved ones to deal with as well? Death is inevitable, it is something that will come to everyone sooner or later. Don't let your debts add to your family's grief. Don't let your loved ones carry the burden of having to pay for your funeral expenses which averagely cost between $5,000 and $10,00, not to mention your medical bills, your personal debts, or your legal bills. Final Expense Insurance is the insurance that will take care of all your debts and bills should the worst thing happens. I'm sure most of you will agree that the single largest debt in a family is the mortgage. So imagine if you leave this debt to your family without a mortgage insurance, they may face the consequence of losing their home. Obtain a Mortgage Protection Insurance that will take care of your mortgage loan debt in the event of your death to ease the financial burden to your family. If you are the sole earner in your family and everybody depends on you, your death would mean an unbearable problem to them. Consider getting a Term Life Insurance that will give your family a cash benefit at the time of your death, so even when you're gone they will still get by.

Scared of Thomas the Train

I talk to my son like a big kid and it makes me smile when he listens to me with a serious face like trying to digest every word I say. It's amazing how when I teach him a word today, he will still remember the following day. For instance, of all the kids so obsessed with Thomas the Train, my son is the only one who is scared of the show on TV. He likes them in books and toys only, but not the show on TV. He is so terrified as in he trembles whenever the show previews on TV while he's watching something else. Anyway, I told him to not be scared because it's only on TV and the train is not a real talking train. For some reason he's scared of the faces on the trains. I've said that to him only once and the following day when he saw the picture in his book, he tried to tell me in a baby talk "Scared Thomas Train", then with his index finger up in the air going left to right "On TV." At first I couldn't decipher what he was talking about, hb even asked what he was saying, it took me a while to realize that he was talking about what I told him the other day - don't be afraid of Thomas the Train, it's only on TV. I learned from the Parenting magazines I read, that you should go down to the level of your child when you talk to them so you can look at them eye to eye so they will understand better. That is how I talk to him when I want him to understand something.

My Air Mattress Buddy

The first time we invested on an air mattress was when we had our hardwood floor in the hallway leading to the upstairs bedrooms and formal dining room re-finished. We camped in the family room because we were not allowed to step on the floor for at least 24 hours. The air mattress was very easy to set up and put away, very comfortable, and most of all very affordable. I was happy to have invested on this cheap air mattress because few months after that, we had some friends visiting from overseas and it came very handy for their kids to use on the guest room's floor. It was also very useful because we had brought it to one of our camping trips, and it perfectly fit in our tent. And when my son was still a baby trying to roll over I would just lay it out on the family room to give him more room to master the act. It was really a very good investment to have an air mattress in the house, you will never know when and how it will come handy again next time. If you are planning to buy an air mattress don't forget to check out AirMattressInfo.com for air mattress guide.

Enjoying Both Worlds

I woke up to the buzz of the alarm clock set at 6am. I must have accidentally pressed the button to set it last night because I'm not going anywhere early in the morning. But probably it was for the good, because I could have not started the day productive if it was not for my good old alarm clock. Anyway, I went to bed quite early too last night so I'm pretty well rested to start the day early. It was supposed to be foggy and rainy today, so so sad for the early commute ride to work for most people. This is one of those reasons why I am glad to be a stay-at-home mom and not driving to work. There were times when I entertained the thoughts of going back to corporate world so as not to waste my brain, but the decision to be a SAHM was really worth it especially when I see my son growing up really well. It's good to still have the opportunity to work from home and use my brain more writing paid posts. I am enjoying both worlds - not drive to work and earn from home. Don't you envy my life? ;-) Happy Monday everyone, hope we all have a good start of the week.

My Independent Boy

My son Michael is exerting his independence more and more these days. He wants to do everything by himself, he always says "I do it, I do it mommy." He wants to get his own water from the water dispenser and puts the glass or cup back on top of the counter which is way above his head he needs to stand on his tippy toes. I used to always watch him drink from a glass or cup because he always pour the left over water on the floor when he's done but recently he hasn't done that. Also I let him drink from a glass so he would know the feel and to teach him how to be careful not to drop it or it will break into pieces. I told him to give the glass back to mommy when he's done. But of course he doens't know what 'break into pieces' means so I had this crazy wish for a glass to break one of these days ;-) so he will know what I was talking about. One time when he was trying to put the glass back on the counter, it slipped, fell and broke into pieces, exactly what I wished for. And he got very frightened, cried and ran away. He was so frightened I might scold him. Then I asked him to come to me and showed him the broken glass and then explained to him what happened. Well I'm not saying that accidents like this will not happen again, it may, but at least now he is learning the consequence of not listening to mommy.

Audi TT Reviews

With the numerous brands of cars out there, it becomes so difficult to compare and decide which ones to buy. Besides you don't want to plunge into buying any car and letting go of your hard-earned money without doing your homework first. If you're thinking about buying a car for the first time or maybe replacing your old one with an Audi TT, here's one great site to consider to help you make an informed decision, TheCarConnection.com.

TheCarConnection.com offers very informative opinion
from the experts who have actually driven the car themselves to come up with the insights that may differ from other audi tt reviews. TheCarConnection.com offers conclusive review of the 2008 Audi TT based on the available reviews as summarized by its editors. The reviews provide the features of Audi TT that were liked and disliked by the reviewers and TheCarConnection.com gives the bottom line summary.

The reviewers liked it that the 2008 Audi TT has punchy and economical 2. OT engine; S-tronic gearbox is an automatic without compromise; good driving position and great seats; more upscale, understated interior outclasses the competition; tight, well-isolated soft top for roadster; and cargo space isn't compromised. While the things that did not appeal to the reviewers were its inability to stand out in the crowd as much as the original TT; MMI seems out of place in a small roadster; and V-6 model doesn't feel much faster. And The Bottom Line summary by the TheCarConnection.com states that the Audi TT is a little more engaging to drive than before, but it doesn't stand out in the crowd as compared to the original
. What's good about the review is that it also provides other choices of cars to consider that may be in similar category as Audi TT. Another is it gives buying tips to consumers as far as the best time to buy Audi TT. With all these information at hand, I don't see why a person who would like to buy an Audi TT will still be confused about deciding to go on or to hold for the best time.

Lunch at Indian Buffet

What is mild to hb is so spicy to me already. And also because I suffer from heartburn from time to time, so spicy food is not my friend. Anyway, surprisingly our son can somewhat tolerate a little bit of spice too. I dipped the tip of nan (Indian bread) in the spicy sauce and he ate it, but he spat out the second bite. And we sort of had a little reunion with my friend's daughter Mary and her husband Tom. It's been a while since I last saw her and it was good to meet her new husband finally.

Spice Up Your Halloween Party

Whenever I host a party in the house I try to make it more fun and exciting with games for adults and kids. But I've never had a party on Halloween yet, I don't have a clue what games to do. I have friends coming over with their kids on Halloween. First we will take our kids around the neighborhood for Trick or Treating, then afterwards its the adults' turn to have some spooky fun night. I consulted the Celebrations.com for some idea and it gave me a lot of expert advices and simple tools to plan a fun party. Celebrations.com as the name implies is a place where you can get idea for all kinds of life's important celebrations like Thanksgiving Dinner, Super Bowl Party, Christmas Party, Eater Day, 4th of July and of course Halloween Party and a lot more. We will dress-up in our favorite celebrity costumes and we will play one of the Halloween drinking games "Which Dead Celebrity Am I? game, that would be a lot of fun.

I will just serve appetizers and finger food like chips and dips and pizza. But then Celebrations.com gave me an awesome idea to make the food look creepy and kooky. Don't you find Brain Dip, Hard-Boiled Eyeballs, Creepy Idaho potato critters and Witch Finger Cookies creepily appetizing? I will dress up our kitchen island like a tomb and adorn it with lots of spider web, skeletons, tombstones
. I'm sure the kids will enjoy this exciting spooky night as well. I'm glad I found Decorations.com and it surely gave me idea I would never have thought of without their very clever and expert advices.

It's Time to Introduce a Second Language

I was watching my son during his session with the Early Intervention teacher this morning and I was so amazed at his performance, he really improved tremendously. Michael was delayed in his communication skills and it was frustrating for him and for us as well when we couldn't understand what he was trying to tell us. But his other skills like cognitive, motor, and fine motor skills were all excellent and even higher for his age. He started EI when he was 17 months and at 21 months he started to speak understandable words already and he never stopped talking since then. He talks in phrases now. EI for an hour once a week really helped. I always watch what the teacher do for the session then follow it up during the week.

This month Michael will be assessed again and I'm 100% sure that he will pass the test with flying colors. I'm just sad that we wont see Ms. Katie anymore, she is really very nice and sweet and patient. Anyway, since Michael can speak and understand English very well now, little by little I'm introducing Tagalog words to him already and I started with the body parts. It is so cute when he talks in slang Tagalog.

Buy-To-Let Mortgage Crises

In the late 90's the number of buy-to-let mortgages boomed in UK and many of the newbies in the market were relatively new investors enticed with the benefits of obtaining a stable income from rental receipts and accumulation of wealth in the event that house prices appreciate over time. But in the recent closure of Bradford & Bingley, Britain's largest buy-to-let mortgage provider, thousands of buy-to-let investors are facing the dilemma of being forced to sell their properties or suffer repossession. This is quite frightening as many of the affected investors were smaller, novice landlords, who just went into buy-to-let business to help them augment their pensions. The market is struggling and the auction rooms in Britain are flooded with buy-to-let flats being sold at a depressing loss, and new-build buy-to-let properties are being sold at huge discount. If you are shopping for or want to know more about buy-to-let mortgages, visit MortgagesForBusiness.co.uk for a comprehensive guide to Buy to Let.

He didn't want to eat the food that he used to love. He was trying to assert independence like if I asked him if he wanted to eat this or that, his immediate reply was 'No'. I still make snack exciting for him. I let him choose a cookie cutter and encourage him to cut the sandwich himself. He is always excited to do it, but after the cutting is done, he will just take a bite then will push it away. I began to worry about him not eating enough or not getting the nutrition he needs, although he drinks a bottle of Pediasure a day. But when I learned that this is just a phase and will come back to normal soon then I rested my case. Two days ago I cooked Tinolang Manok (Chicken Stew) and gave my son a bowl with rice, and miraculuously he ate them. Wow, I guess the 'hungry' days are over for him. So today I made Pancit (Noodles) and he had quite a lot too. Knock on wood, I hope this will be the start of his appetite back to normal again.

Hanging in Here

Geez, it's past 1am and I'm still up. I should get to bed soon. I need to get up early tomorrow because for one I will go to church for the First Friday mass at 7am and then Michael's teacher is coming at 8am. I still have two more expiring opps I need to finish though. This blogging business is really getting serious, at least on my part anyway. I wish I had more time at night. The VP debate also got in the way of finishing early. Anyway, more opps is better than none right?

Know Who Is Calling You

I'm usually out during the day taking my son to his play schedules or running errands. When I come home and check my machine, I get at least two unfamiliar numbers on the caller ID. Friends normally leave messages but I'm intrigued with the ones who don't. So what I do is to immediately check the number in the National Phone Book to see where the call came from and in few seconds the result gives me the city and state where the call originated. National Phone Book provides local, state and national phone book that lets you search for information on any phone number whether listed or not in U.S. National Phone Book works as an internet phonebook directory with database that is constantly updated for new sources including business phonebooks, white pages and local phonebooks and directory. With only the phone number as your raw information, you can also obtain additional information like the owner's full name and address but with corresponding fees. So stop guessing who is calling you, use the National Phone Book.
