Driving in the Philippines

Driving in the Philippines can be very stressful. What used to be reached in less than an hour would take two or so hours to reach now. The traffic gets worse every time I visit. It seems that the number of vehicles especially motorcycles just keep increasing but the roads just stay as bad as they were. If only the transportation system there is good enough I would much rather not drive through the ridiculous traffic, but I've got no choice. It is a necessity for me to drive no matter what. But it usually takes me a week or so to get used to driving in the Philippines again. It takes a while to get the confidence back driving with undisciplined drivers on the road. I always gasp whenever somebody will cut me in or people will irresponsibly cross anywhere they wish to. The time I was there, I've seen quite a few motorcycle accidents in the news and most were fatal, its scary.
