Weekend Accomplishments

Over the weekend, while my hb and son were out in a park zoo, I got the chance to finally clean and organize the study room. I emptied the closet and sorted through the contents. We have a pretty big closet in the study room and we use it to keep some old computers, old tv, old radio, and tons of computer related accessories. They were heavy I could use some industrial safety supplies to carry them out, but my adrenalin was shooting up so I was able to. My goal was to finish before my little son arrives and be all over me again, so I was fast and focus.

There were lots of paper bills that needed shredding and old magazines to be recycled. I put old textbooks and binders in big plastic containers, labeled and stacked them in the closet. I also assembled wire rack cubes and made neat looking bookcases and cubby holes, so everything has its own place now. Now all my hb's and my textbooks are in separate bookcases. Finally the study room looks like a real office of hb where he works from home at most days. Hb also installed his own office phone dedicated for his own official use only. Very neat and pretty.

Sorting Through Junk Mails

For the past two days I've been up and down the island stool sorting through all our junk mails. If I just toss the junk mails in a basket in my kitchen counter and not sort them right away, in just one week it would accumulate to an overwhelming mound. So just imagine how a month's worth at least of mail would look like. I usually get tons of catalogs; free insurance quotes; my regular magazine subscriptions; bills; bank and investment statements; ads and offers; coupons; shopping deals and a lot more. And I usually just open the bills and pay them, and just deal with the rest when I have spare time. But with the schedule I have with my little son, sorting through junk mail is the least of my priorities.

Next Time We're in NC

When we were at Myrtle Beach some few years back, we didn't get the chance to do a lot of things because our stay was very brief, in fact we only stayed overnight. We've heard about how amazing Myrtle beach golf courses were but unfortunately we didn't even set foot in any of them as well. Next time we get a chance to visit my in-laws again in NC, Myrtle Beach will definitely be on top of our itinerary.

What a Big Relief

A year ago, hb and I were in a very stressful situation following the news that his job was being outsourced overseas. It was scary to lose job at that time considering the economic condition where hundreds of people were also losing their jobs. We remained optimistic but at the same time braced ourselves for the worse. So we scouted for cheap health insurance because it is something that we can not do without. Another great concern was the mortgage payment. We looked into our finances to determine how far we can go paying on time even without any income coming in but at the same time not dip into our savings. It's a good thing that we never have to worry about health insurance and mortgage at all because five days before hb's termination date we received a great blessing. He was offered a job in a different organization within his company. So that was such a big relief.

Best Way to Protect Teeth and Gums

Do you grind your teeth while you sleep? I do. Though I've been aware about my teeth grinding, I didn't however give it a big deal, until recently. I thought that teeth-grinding at night is just a reflex chewing activity but it can cause health issues too. In fact I've read that teeth-grinding during sleep is considered as one of the most common sleep disorders. Actually, I noticed that I grind my teeth while sleeping only when I'm stressed or exhausted before bedtime. At least that was how I always remember it. I only began to give teeth-grinding a big deal when I got married. My husband never complained about it but probably because he got fed up with me always complaining about his snoring, he finally dropped the bombshell on my face to get even, lol. Kidding aside, a dental mouth guard is the answer to all this teeth-grinding problem so I'm happy to get selected to try and review DenTek's Custom Comfort Nightguard.

*This review is a result of a feedback campaign by DenTek Oral Care, Inc. The recipients were asked to give their honest opinion about the product they received. Good reviews were not incentivized and poor reviews will not be censored for their opinion of the product.*

Little Kid Again

Thanksgiving day is two weeks away and we're not yet decided whether to celebrate it at home with friends or just get away. I don't feel like cooking turkey again but I don't feel like packing and flying too. And besides it is one of the busiest holidays where airports are always full packed with travelers. It would be a hassle to fly with a 3-year old again. I remember there was one Thanksgiving when my hb and I flew to Florida in World Disney and stayed there for 4 days and 3 nights. It was only the two of us back then. We had snow as early as late November already. We left New England state in a snowy night and arrived in Florida with summer-like weather. I wish we could do it again and maybe go to miami this time or just come back to World Disney again. It would be a totally different experience now that we have our little son in tow. Even at three I'm sure he will appreciate the sights and rides already and I want to be a little kid again.

Great Idea

I always play music in my son's room at bedtime. Music doesn't only soothe him but also contributes in his growth and development. But for some reasons, the cd player in his room quit working. I have yet to buy a new one to replace it but I just couldn't get the time to swing by the mall to do it. But now I have a better idea. Instead of getting another cd player I might just get one of those MP3 players. I will just have to buy a docking station with multiple functionality of an alarm clock and radio too. At bedtime, my son will enjoy his soothing music while during the day I can snatch it from the dock and use the player while working out. I can store all of my son's bedtime music so I won't have to worry about replacing the cd anymore. Great idea.

Sugar Rush

How do I lose belly fat if I couldn't help eating sweets among others? Actually it feels like I have a lump in my throat that I find it hard to swallow already. It must be from eating too much left over chocolates from Halloween. Not to mention feasting on the Pumpkin Cake and Cappuccino Crinkles that I baked too. I guess this sugar rush will keep me up all night again, I should probably catch up on my online work to compensate.

A Thank You Note

I must admit I haven't been very active in updating all of my six blogs. After taking a much needed vacation, I came back well rested but didn't have much time to spend online. There's just too much to catch up in the home front. I used to be concerned about site ranking and I even used free seo software to optimize my sites and build link popularity. But for two long months of being out of touch, I'm not even sure if my sites still appear in search engines anymore, though I'm glad that some blogger friends are still visiting them. Thank you to all my friends who still take time to see what's going on here, and hopefully I can return the favor.
